Position: Member Services Coordinator

Type: Full-Time Position

Classification: Hybrid – Primarily remote, with regular in office work and occasional travel within Ontario.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, resourceful and solutions-oriented individual to provide front-line service to our members and support the work of our local representative teams.

This is much more than a traditional member support role. You will play an important part in enhancing the member experience, resolving operational challenges, and ensuring our members and PARO representatives have the support and resources they need to be successful.

The successful candidate will work closely with members, regional representatives and other stakeholders, providing information, guidance and support on a range of member and local issues.

Your communication style is confident, reassuring, positive and clear, with the ability to adapt your approach to different audiences and situations.

Detail-Oriented – You bring precision and care to every task. Your thoroughness ensures high-quality, accurate work and helps ensure that information and documentation are handled effectively.

Self-Motivated and Organized – You take initiative, manage competing priorities effectively, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. You are comfortable working independently while knowing when to seek guidance or involve others.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide telephone and ongoing support to members, universities and hospitals regarding the application, administration and interpretation of the PARO-OTH Collective Agreement.
- Recommend options for resolving issues while ensuring the consistent application of the PARO-OTH Collective Agreement.
- Monitor and report on issues arising across sites and from committee representatives, ensuring relevant information is communicated to the appropriate PARO teams.
- Provide guidance and support to regional representatives in implementing local strategies and initiatives and fostering effective local teams.
- Coordinate local PARO representatives, including reviewing materials, preparing briefing notes, and facilitating the flow of information and follow-up.
- Provide guidance and support related to local initiatives and site-allocated funds.
- Develop goals,



budgets and implementation plans for organizational initiatives.
- Prepare agendas, record meeting minutes, and coordinate meeting logistics.
- Produce reference materials, briefing notes and specialized reports.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and support other areas of the organization’s work as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications

- University degree or college diploma, preferably in Health/Social Services, Education or Government Relations.
- Two to four years of experience in a professional association, not-for-profit or member-facing environment is an asset.
- Strong ability to explain complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent listening, critical thinking, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Superior written communication skills, with strong editing and proofreading abilities.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize a diverse workload.
- Keen desire to learn and take on new challenges.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills, including presentation preparation and familiarity with database management.
