The Mentorship Associate supports the VP Events & External by managing the day-to-day mentorship experience within Casing Junior Development. The role focuses on building strong mentor-mentee relationships, coordinating mentor involvement across workshops and events, and ensuring mentors and mentees receive consistent support throughout the program.

Time Commitment2–3 hours/week from September 2026 – December 2026 | 4–8 hours/week from Jan 2027 – April 2027

Main Responsibilities

- Coordinate mentor participation across CJD workshops, sessions, and events, ensuring each mentee team has access to appropriate mentorship
- Match mentors with mentee teams based on interests, experience, casing strengths, industries, and development goals
- Maintain consistent communication with mentors regarding schedules, session expectations, program updates, and mentee needs
- Serve as an accessible point of contact for mentors and mentees throughout the program and address mentorship-related questions or concerns
- Monitor mentor availability and workload to prevent burnout and coordinate substitutions or additional support when necessary
- Work with the VP Events & External to maintain a diverse mentor pool with experience across different casing styles, industries, and functional areas
- Regularly check in with mentors and mentees to gather feedback and identify opportunities to improve team dynamics and the mentorship experience
- Develop resources and guidelines that help mentors understand their responsibilities and provide consistent, constructive feedback to mentees
- Support mentor onboarding and help foster a welcoming, team-oriented mentorship community
- Recognize mentor contributions and support initiatives that strengthen mentor retention and continued involvement with CJD

Qualifications

- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills




- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and scheduling abilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple relationships and respond proactively to scheduling changes or concerns
- Empathetic and approachable, with the ability to understand and balance the needs of both mentors and mentees
- Previous mentorship, case competition, team leadership, event coordination, or relationship management experience is an asset
- Familiarity with casing and case competitions is an asset
- Ability to work collaboratively with the VP Events & External and other CJD executives
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to Casing Junior Development and its success

Anticipated Learning OutcomesThe Mentorship Associate will gain hands-on experience in relationship management, mentorship program coordination, stakeholder communication, team matching, and conflict resolution. The Associate will develop the ability to manage multiple professional relationships, balance stakeholder needs and availability, and create an effective mentorship experience. They will also gain greater exposure to different casing styles and industries while developing meaningful connections with mentors, students, and business professionals.
