We are actively growing and looking for a Junior to Intermediate M&A; Analyst to join our Corporate Development team. Reporting directly to the Director of Mergers & Acquisitions, you will be a key player in driving our buy-side growth strategy. You will get hands-on experience across the entire M&A; lifecycle—from identifying strategic targets and running valuations, to facilitating due diligence and actively participating in the post-merger integration of newly acquired firms into the Dillon family.

Target Identification & Sourcing: Conduct market research to identify potential acquisition targets in the engineering, environmental, and planning sectors across Canada that align with Dillon’s strategic goals. Build and maintain detailed financial models (DCF, precedent transactions, comparable company analysis) to evaluate potential acquisitions and support deal pricing. Assist the Director in managing the end-to-end due diligence process, liaising with internal subject matter experts (HR, IT, Finance, Legal) and external advisors to identify deal risks and opportunities.

Support the drafting of letters of intent (LOIs), term sheets, and internal investment memos for the CEO and Board of Directors. Post-Merger Management & Integration:



Play a critical hands-on role in helping newly acquired companies transition smoothly. You will track integration KPIs, resolve operational bottlenecks, and help integrate new teams into Dillon’s employee-owned culture.

Drive continuous learning and mentor junior staff in data science and digital project delivery methodologies, developing the next generation of tech-forward leaders. Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. (CPA, CFA, or CBV designation is a strong asset).

Advanced proficiency in Excel with strong financial modeling and analytical skills. You possess the emotional intelligence required for post-merger integration. You understand that acquiring a business means acquiring people, and you are highly capable of building trust and guiding new teams through the stress of an acquisition. 2 to 5 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, transaction advisory, private equity, or management consulting. ~ Proven track record working in and contributing to a Continuous Improvement-focused environment ~ It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region.
