Large Format Printer Technician – Mimaki / Roland / UV / Eco-Solvent

Absolute Toner – Concord, Ontario

Full-Time or Experienced Contractor

$60,000-$80,000 per year, based on experience

Absolute Toner is looking for an experienced Large Format Printer Technician to join our technical service team at our Concord, Ontario location.

Our primary focus is Mimaki professional printing equipment, but we also sell and service Roland and other professional printing and production equipment.

Direct Mimaki or Roland large-format service experience is highly preferred. Experienced Roland technicians who are interested in expanding their knowledge into Mimaki equipment are strongly encouraged to apply. We can provide Mimaki-specific product training to the right experienced technician.

We are looking for someone with strong hands-on technical and troubleshooting skills who can eventually support the complete range of equipment we sell, including installation, repair, maintenance, setup and customer training.

Equipment You Will Service & Support

Our equipment portfolio includes

- Mimaki and Roland large-format printers
- UV and eco-solvent printers
- Roll-to-roll printers and printer/cutters
- UV flatbed printers
- Cutting plotters
- DTF printers and complete DTF production systems
- Embroidery machines
- Professional digital office printers and multifunction systems
- Digital production printers
- Related printing, finishing and production equipment

Experience with every category is not required. We are looking for a strong technician who is willing and capable of learning additional equipment as our product portfolio continues to grow.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair professional printing equipment
- Perform both in-house and on-site field service
- Install and set up new equipment at customer locations
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, ink-delivery and software-related issues
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Replace, align and calibrate printheads and other components
- Diagnose pumps, motors, sensors, ink systems, boards and other printer components
- Configure printers, RIP software and related systems
- Test and prepare equipment before customer delivery
- Install and commission new equipment
- Provide professional customer training following installation
- Explain proper operation,



maintenance and troubleshooting procedures to customers
- Provide telephone and remote technical support when required
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate service records
- Work with manufacturers and technical support departments when required
- Continue learning and supporting new equipment as it is added to our product portfolio

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on technical repair/service experience
- Previous experience servicing Mimaki, Roland or other professional large-format printing equipment is highly preferred
- Strong experience with UV, eco-solvent, wide-format, production printing, copier, electronic, electromechanical or similar professional equipment will also be considered
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Comfortable working with electronics, mechanical components, motors, pumps, sensors, printheads, ink systems and computer-related issues
- Good computer and software skills
- Ability to understand technical documentation and service manuals
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems logically
- Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills
- Excellent spoken and written English communication is required
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Comfortable providing hands-on customer training
- Valid Ontario driver's licence
- Ability to travel to customer locations as required
- Reliable, organized and able to manage service calls independently

Mimaki / Roland Experience Mimaki experience is a major advantage, particularly with Mimaki UV, eco-solvent, roll-to-roll and flatbed equipment.

However, if you are an experienced Roland large-format technician, we would also like to hear from you. Many of the core technical skills are transferable, and we are prepared to provide additional Mimaki-specific training.

Technicians with experience on other qualified large-format printer brands may also be considered based on their technical background.

Additional Product Training





We do not expect the successful candidate to already know every machine we sell.

We can provide additional product-specific training on:

- DTF printers and production systems
- Embroidery equipment
- Cutting plotters
- Professional office and production printers
- New Mimaki products and technologies
- Other equipment added to our product portfolio

We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation who is interested in continuing to learn.

Compensation

Full-Time Position

- $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience and technical qualifications
- Compensation will reflect direct Mimaki/Roland and large-format experience
- Product-specific technical training
- Full time, long-term position
- Prospect to grow with our expanding professional equipment division

Candidates with extensive Mimaki and/or Roland field-service experience who can independently diagnose, repair, install and train customers will receive higher compensation consideration.

Contractor Opportunity

We are also interested in speaking with experienced independent service technicians/contractors who can provide service on an as-needed basis.

Contract technicians with experience servicing Mimaki, Roland, UV, eco-solvent or other professional large-format equipment are encouraged to apply.

Contractor compensation will be discussed based on experience, capabilities, availability and service area.

Location

This position is based from our Concord, Ontario location and includes a combination of in-house technical work and field service at customer locations.
