Role Description The Network Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB, responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and optimization of network and related systems. This role includes monitoring network performance, managing switches, routers, and firewalls, and ensuring stable connectivity across all locations.
The Network
Administrator will perform regular system administration tasks, apply updates and patches, and maintain user access and permissions. Day-to-day activities also involve diagnosing and resolving network issues, providing technical support to internal stakeholders,
and implementing security best practices to protect data and infrastructure. The role collaborates with other IT team members and vendors to support projects, enhance reliability, and improve overall IT service delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Network Administration and Network Security to manage and protect LAN/WAN, wireless, and VoIP environments.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Technical Support to diagnose, resolve, and document network and user issues efficiently in a wide variety of customer environments.
- Experience with System Administration, including servers, operating systems, and user account management.
- Knowledge of common networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and monitoring tools.
- Relevant certification(s) such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work on-site in Edmonton, AB, and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid communication, organization, and documentation skills, with a focus on reliability and service quality.
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is an asset.
