Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Network Cabling Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on field experience installing and terminating network cabling and is comfortable working independently at customer sites.

The successful candidate must be proficient in Cat5e cable termination, including terminating RJ45 connectors and keystone jacks, and have a strong understanding of structured cabling practices.

Responsibilities

Install, terminate, and test Cat5e network cabling.

Terminate Cat5e cables with RJ45 connectors and keystone jacks.

Install and organize network cables, patch panels, jacks, and related hardware.

Perform cable testing and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

Read and follow cabling diagrams, work orders, and installation instructions.

Maintain neat, professional, and properly labeled cable installations.

Work safely and follow industry best practices.

Communicate professionally with customers and team members.

Travel to various job sites as required.

Complete service calls and installations during evening and weekend hours when required.

Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicle in good working condition.

Qualifications & Requirements





Minimum 2 years of field experience in network cabling, telecommunications, low-voltage, or a related trade.

Demonstrated experience terminating Cat5e cable.

Must be proficient with RJ45 ends and keystone jacks.

Knowledge of T568A/T568B wiring standards and basic network cabling practices.

Ability to use cable testers and basic hand tools.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and manage time effectively.

Must have a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver's license.

Must have your own basic tools suitable for network cabling work.

Able to work evenings and weekends as required.

Physically able to perform cable installation work, including bending, lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces when necessary.

Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills.
