In this role, you will prepare and process payroll, review payroll inputs for accuracy, maintain employee records, process new hires and terminations, prepare ROEs, and ensure the accurate calculation of wages, statutory deductions, vacation pay, perks, and other payroll adjustments.
You will also manage payroll remittances and reconciliations, resolve payroll discrepancies, respond to client inquiries, and support year-end reporting, including T4s and related filings.
You’ll work closely with our accounting and client service teams to ensure payroll information is complete, accurate, and properly reflected in our clients’ accounting records.
What You’ll Do

- Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls
- Review timesheets, overtime, vacation, statutory holiday pay, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll adjustments
- Process new hires, terminations, employee changes, and ROEs
- Review statutory deductions, taxable benefits, vacation pay, and other payroll-related items
- Prepare and reconcile payroll remittances

What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of hands-on Canadian payroll experience
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle payroll processing and Canadian payroll requirements
- Experience managing payroll for multiple companies or clients is strongly preferred
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation completed or in progress is preferred
- Experience with Payworks or similar Canadian payroll platforms is an asset
- Experience with payroll remittances, ROEs, T4s, statutory deductions, vacation pay, taxable benefits, and payroll reconciliations
- Foundational accounting knowledge, including payroll journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
- Strong Excel and technology skills
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple recurring deadlines
- Previous experience in a CPA firm, bookkeeping firm, payroll service provider, or other multi-client environment is an asset
What Success Looks Like
You take ownership of payroll from start to finish. You don’t simply process the information provided -you review it carefully, identify discrepancies or missing information, ask the right questions, and follow through to ensure payroll is accurate and completed on time.
