Services are designed to engage children in therapeutic play while supporting caregivers with practical strategies.

Role Description The Paediatric Occupational Therapist is a contract, on-site role based in Etobicoke, ON. This position involves assessing children’s sensory, motor, emotional, social, and functional needs; developing individualized treatment plans; and delivering play-based occupational therapy interventions in a clinic setting. The therapist will collaborate with mental health clinicians, families, and community partners to support children’s participation at home, school, and in the community.

Daily tasks include documentation, progress monitoring, and communicating recommendations to caregivers and other providers.



The role also involves contributing to program development, maintaining best practices, and participating in team meetings and case consultations.

Qualifications

- Registered Occupational Therapist in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy
- Demonstrated competency in Paediatric Occupational Therapy and Early Intervention, with experience working with children across all developmental stages.
- Knowledge in Sensory Integration and supporting self-regulation, motor planning, and functional participation through play-based approaches.
- Ability to build rapport and work effectively with children and families
- Experience in mental health or play-based clinical settings is an asset, including familiarity with interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong clinical reasoning, and organized documentation practices.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and to providing non-discriminatory, culturally sensitive services.
- Ability to work on-site in Etobicoke, ON, and to manage a consistent caseload while maintaining professional boundaries and ethics.
- Experience working with neurodiverse and neurotypical individuals
