Duties
- Deliver personalized tutoring sessions to students across different grade levels and subjects, adapting methods to meet individual learning styles
- Assess students’ strengths and areas for improvement to develop customized learning plans
- Support students with homework, test preparation, and skill-building exercises to enhance understanding and retention
- Communicate progress regularly with students’ parents or guardians to ensure alignment on goals and achievements
- Create a positive and motivating learning environment that encourages active participation and confidence-building
- Utilize various teaching tools and resources to make lessons engaging and effective
- Maintain detailed records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and feedback for continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, especially with children or youth
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain concepts and motivate learners
- Experience working with children in classroom or educational settings is highly desirable
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Passion for education and helping students reach their full potential
- Reliable transportation or proximity to the GTA regions of Milton, Mississauga, Oakville, or Burlington is preferred
- Certification or background in education or related fields is a plus but not mandatory
