Specialized Math and English Tutor - In Person, Montreal

Tutoreal is expanding its network of tutors to support students with diverse learning profiles. We are looking for a patient, structured, and engaging tutor to provide individualized support in mathematics and English. This position is particularly well suited to someone studying or working in education, special education, psychology, psychoeducation, occupational therapy, speech-language sciences, linguistics, child development, or a related field.

Responsibilities

- Provide individualized tutoring in middle and high school mathematics and English.
- Support reading, writing, comprehension, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Adapt lessons to the student’s learning style, pace, and academic needs.
- Help develop executive-function skills, including organization, attention, planning, and task initiation.
- Prepare structured, engaging exercises and learning activities.
- Build the student’s confidence, motivation, and academic independence.
- Communicate progress and observations to the Tutoreal team.

Qualifications:
- Currently studying or graduated from a relevant field.
- Strong command of both mathematics and English.
- Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, intervention, childcare, or youth programming.
- Patient, dependable, encouraging,



and able to provide clear explanations.
- Comfortable supporting students with attention, organization, or learning challenges.
- Available for consistent in-person sessions in Montreal

Assets:
- Experience supporting students with learning challenges.
- Experience teaching literacy, reading, or written expression.
- Knowledge of differentiated or multisensory teaching methods.
- Experience creating individualized learning plans.
- Ability to communicate in French with families or students. Position details:
- Part time, with the possibility of multiple sessions per week.
- Primarily in-person tutoring.
- Assignments are offered according to the tutor’s qualifications, availability, and location.
