Reporting to the Product Safety & Quality Assurance Manager, the PSQA Coordinator will play a key role in supporting and executing the product safety and quality vision of Darling International Canada Inc. The role will ensure the effective execution of laboratory analysis and communication of results, while supporting the laboratory quality and PSQA Programs

Position Summary

Reporting to the Product Safety & Quality Assurance Manager, the PSQA Coordinator will play a key role in supporting and executing the product safety and quality vision of Darling International Canada Inc. The role will ensure the effective execution of laboratory analysis and communication of results, while supporting the laboratory quality and PSQA Programs

This is a 14-month Fulltime contract role.

Position Tasks And Responsibilities

Analytical Lab

- Participate in laboratory and health & safety programs, identifying issues and corrective actions as required.
- Ensure products and analysis processes meet product quality and safety standards prior to shipment.
- Communicate product deviations to leadership and operations team and provide recommendations for corrective action as needed.
- Prepare customer documentation that is timely, accurate, and professional.
- Generate laboratory results that are accurate and precise and ensure the timely data entry of all samples and records.
- Ensure internal and third-party product testing is performed according to established schedules and sampling programs to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Ensure laboratory inspections, calibrations, and preventative maintenance activities are completed according to schedule, taking corrective action where available.
- Complete product safety program monitoring, verification activities, deviation investigation, record review & inspection documentation as required.

HACCP Plans

- Support the implementation, verification,



reassessment, maintenance and storage of HACCP plans, prerequisite programs, and supporting documentation.
- Support the monitoring and verification of product safety programs and facility practices, and appropriate actions to ensure the integrity of the HACCP system.
- Identify trends related to product safety (foreign material, complaints, non-conformances, etc.) as well as opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide support when working with CFIA inspectors, third party auditors, and customers and assist with internal audits.
- Report matters pertaining to product safety and quality.

Working Conditions

- Work in a laboratory and production environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and processing odors.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional outdoor work in all seasons and at heights.

Required Qualifications

- University degree or college diploma in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Agriculture, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Product Safety, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in the food, agriculture, or processing industry is considered an asset.
- Strong commitment to health and safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment.
- Robust communication skills, including verbal, written, and email communication.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,



with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Positive, professional attitude and strong work ethic.
