Job Details The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Engineering department as a Project Manager. Reporting to the Manager of Capital Projects, this position is directly responsible for the successful completion of capital projects from initiation to completion.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 5 years of related experience in construction, civil project delivery, or capital project management; or a related 2-year diploma with a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
- Holds one of the following certifications: Professional Engineer (P.Eng), Professional Licensee (P.L.Eng), Professional Technologist (P.Tech), Certified Technologist (C.Tech), or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET).
- Eligibility for registration with APEGA, ASET, or PMI is required.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification is considered an asset.
- Equivalent combinations of relevant experience and education may be considered.

Responsibilities

- Lead the delivery of capital projects from planning through to completion, including consultant and contractor procurement, design review, construction administration, stakeholder coordination, budget oversight, and project closeout, while ensuring quality, compliance, and successful delivery of infrastructure and facility improvements.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to define project objectives, manage expectations, and drive successful outcomes.
- Identify, assess,



and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing proactive solutions to keep initiatives on track.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and status reports, providing clear communication to leadership and stakeholders.
- Inspect worksites for safety, construction progress and to answer on site field questions.

Hours of Work

- Benefit from flexible work hours by adjusting your start and end times by 30 or 60 minutes around our core hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- We offer a compressed bi-weekly work schedule of 72 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00, with a biweekly regular day off (RDO).

Compensation

- The salary ranges from $91,280.54 - $111,056.92 per year, including a comprehensive benefits package with a versatile spending account, pension plan, and accrued paid vacation starting at 3 weeks per year.

- Candidates not meeting the full qualifications may be considered for a development chance at a lower classification and salary.

- Eligible to apply for a Hybrid Remote Work arrangement, with a minimum of 51% of work time spent onsite and the remainder worked remotely. Employees are eligible to participate in this program after 3 months of employment, subject to satisfactory performance.

- Employees can purchase an annual Recreation Access Pass for $87 + tax,



granting unlimited access to Servus Credit Union Place (excluding PLAYcare and registered programs), Fountain Park Recreation Centre, and Grosvenor Outdoor Pool.
- Free parking near most City worksites (ask for location specific details).
