Create Alert Recreation Therapist - Rehabilitation & Supportive Care Services Location: CentralZone,Halifax Infirmary Robie Street Entrance - QEII Department: OPCZ Neuro Science Acute Care Rec Therap Posting Closing Date: 16-Sep-26 Reporting to the Program Manager of the Neurology and Spinal Cord Injury department within the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services Department, the Recreation Therapist is a member of the cooperative health care team, providing support to patients, families and inter-professional team members through therapeutic intervention to support holistic functioning of patients.The Recreation Therapist provides assessment, intervention plan development, evidence-informed interventions and evaluation of recreation therapy services. Interventions are provided to groups or individuals in an acute inpatient setting, related to the patient's overall plan of care.

The Recreation

Therapist is responsible to oversee the delivery of the overall recreation therapy service for a program or team. Bachelor of Recreation specializing in Therapeutic Recreation Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification Knowledge and experience with Psychosocial Rehabilitation Principles Experience in working with various populations/disability groups preferred Knowledge of leisure/recreation assessments Knowledge of various health conditions and their impact on health and well being Competencies in other languages an asset,
