Provides breast-feeding information and support based on individualized needs and prescribed medical treatment for both inpatient and outpatient families within the Women's and Children's Health program with particular emphasis on the NICU, inpatient high risk infants and the Ambulatory clinics.

Participates in the development and implementation of nursing and patient education programs specific to breast feeding the high risk neonate and infant and in support of the Baby Friendly Initiative Uses nursing processes in providing patient care. Participates as a member of the Interprofessional Health Care Team. Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing)

- Demonstrated sound knowledge and application of nursing skills as listed in the CNO "Standards of Nursing Practice"
- Proven recent and related nursing experience in Lactation Consultation within the NICU and/or dealing high risk infants
- Demonstrated evidence of continuing education,



principles of adult education along with sound knowledge in nursing practice specific to the high risk neonate and child
- Must have satisfactory performance record
