In keeping with the mission statement of the hospital and the patient service unit, the nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for individual patients/families.



Effectively uses the nursing process Practices according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Hospital, and the patient service unit Provides appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family to promote or maintain wellness, and to achieve an optimal quality of life Is accountable for maintaining competence while developing the quality of his/ her professional nursing practice The Inpatient Surgical Unit part time employees schedule shifts through self scheduling as per seniority.

Current

Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential) Minimum 1 year pediatric surgery experience (Preferred) Demonstrated culturally sensitive approach to nursing care (Essential) Demonstrated solid family centered care skills (Essential) Bilingual (English/ French) (Preferred) Please note you will be represented by the Ontario Nurses Association, (ONA). This process may include more varied and multidimensional testing such as a written test, practical exam, or other assessment. All candidates who meet the essential and preferred qualifications may be tested.
