The Department of Cardiac Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Assistant. This Full-time Fixed Termposition is for approximately1 year (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension. The position will be part of the Stephenson Cardiac Imaging Centre and will support research focused on cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) including advanced image acquisition and analysis methods.

Assistant will report to the Principal Investigator.
The Research
Assistant will assist in the (1) collection, processing, and analysis of CMR data; and (2) support the development and implementation of research imaging methods and workflows. Support experimental troubleshooting and promote best practices for laboratory safety and regulatory compliance Assist with the preparation, submission, and maintenance of ethics applications, amendments, and annual renewals to CHREB and other applicable regulatory bodies Participate actively in group meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to evolving research priorities and healthcare workplace demands Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Medical Science, Health Sciences,
or a related field is necessary A Master's degree in a related field is preferred Basic to intermediate knowledge of MRI principles and medical imaging Basic understanding of cardiac anatomy and cardiovascular physiology Experience with research data collection and analysis is strongly preferred Experience working with medical imaging or MRI data is preferred Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary research team Self-motivated, flexible, and able to acquire new skills and manage multiple research activities This position is part of the AUPE bargaining unit, and falls under the Technical Job Family, Phase 1.
