Kitchener

Company Description Harmony Jewelry & Co. is a family-owned, women-led Canadian business dedicated to helping customers celebrate meaningful moments and express their individuality. We are based in Southwestern Ontario, and offer high-quality everyday pieces, personalized engravings, and permanent jewelry. Candidates interested in exploring opportunities can learn more at harmonyjewelryco.ca/careers.

We are growing and created this role to give one experienced retail leader ownership of how our stores operate, perform, and grow. Reporting directly to our Co-Owners, you will lead our five Store Managers, own the overall performance of our five stores, and have the autonomy to make decisions and put improvements into action.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Location: Head Office in Kitchener, Ontario, with regular travel to our five stores.

Reports To: Co-Owners

Vacancy Status: This is a newly created position.

Target Start: November 2026

Role Description As our District Manager, you will oversee multiple retail locations to ensure consistent performance and exceptional customer experiences. You will be the first point of contact for our Store Managers: the person they turn to when they need to make a decision, solve a problem, or improve their store. You will establish clear standards across the district, hold leaders accountable, develop talent, and use sales and operational data to determine where your attention will have the greatest impact.

Day-to-day tasks include conducting store visits, reviewing merchandising standards, supporting staff training, and ensuring operational procedures are followed. Roughly two-thirds of your week will be spent in our stores, working directly with managers and teams. The rest of your time will be focused on planning, analysis, scheduling, and preparing for upcoming store visits.

What We Offer

- $70,000–$80,000 base salary, based on experience.
- Performance-based commission on district sales growth, with the opportunity to earn additional compensation as the stores grow and exceed targets.
- Company vehicle for regular travel between our five stores.
- Benefits, including extended health, dental & vision coverage and paid time off.
- Work-from-home flexibility: limited work-from-home flexibility after your first six months, during the off-season.
- Perks: employee discount and a piece of Harmony jewelry of your own.
- Scope: the senior operational leadership role across our five stores, reporting directly to the owners, with meaningful ownership of how the business runs, sells, and grows.

What you'll be doing as District Manager at Harmony

- Lead the five stores. You’ll be the primary leader for our five Store Managers and their first point of contact for day-to-day operational decisions. You’ll set clear expectations, create consistency across locations, and hold managers accountable for their stores and teams.
- Drive sales and business performance.

You’ll own the sales performance of all five stores. You’ll define the KPIs that show how each store is performing, and regularly review and analyze sales, payroll, inventory, traffic, and product trends to understand what’s driving results and where the biggest opportunities are. When a store is underperforming, you’ll diagnose why, build a concrete plan, and follow through.
- Be present at stores. You’ll follow a regular rotation across all five locations, while naturally spending more time where the greatest opportunity exists. During visits, you’ll assess store standards, merchandising, customer experience, selling behaviours, and team performance, and you’ll coach in the moment.
- Develop great managers and future leaders. You’ll work closely with each Store Manager to strengthen how they hire, train, schedule, coach, and lead. You’ll establish consistent hiring and training/onboarding standards across the district while allowing managers to own their teams. You’ll also identify high-potential employees and help develop the next generation of Harmony leaders.
- Protect the customer experience. Harmony is built around personal service, not transactional selling. You’ll ensure every location delivers a consistent consultative experience and that teams have the product knowledge and confidence to support customers with services including engraving and permanent jewelry.
- Improve how the business operates. You’ll review and approve monthly store schedules, ensure staffing aligns with projected sales and business needs, and identify opportunities to improve the systems and processes our teams rely on. You’ll also oversee the day-to-day administration and use of our HRIS and retail systems.

We'd love to hear from you if...

- You have 3-5+ years of district or multi-store retail leadership experience OR have led a high-volume single store and are ready to step up, ideally in jewelry, fashion, or specialty retail.
- Proven team management experience, including coaching, performance management, and developing retail staff and leaders, with the managerial courage to lead difficult conversations yourself.
- You bring solutions, not just problems. You can walk into a store, read what's working and what isn't, and act on it, with a strong sense of ownership for the results.
- Strong sales skills, with experience in meeting or exceeding sales targets and interpreting sales reports.
- Demonstrated customer service and customer satisfaction focus, with a track record of building positive in-store experiences.
- Proficiency with basic retail systems and tools (POS,

inventory management, scheduling software, HRIS systems).
- Robust organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail in operations and merchandising.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to provide clear direction, feedback, and cross-store coordination.
- You have a valid Ontario driver's licence, a safe driving record, and the ability to work on-site across locations in the Kitchener, ON area, with flexibility for evenings and weekends as needed
- Post-secondary education or formal training in business, retail management, human resources, or a related field is an asset.

You might not meet every requirement listed, and that's okay. If you bring relevant experience and a passion for what we do, we encourage you to apply. We believe great talent comes from all kinds of paths.

Location, Schedule and Travel. Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, based at our Kitchener head office with regular travel to our five stores. We include Saturdays because that's when much of our team is in store and when training happens. You'll have Sundays and Mondays off each week, with the possibility of limited work-from-home for administrative work after your first six month.

Some flexibility may be required during key retail periods, including the holiday season, when store support is especially important. We provide as much advance notice as possible and aim to maintain a predictable schedule throughout the year. A company vehicle is provided for regular business travel between store locations.

Why Harmony? We’re a growing family business, which means this role comes with something you don’t always get in a larger retail organization: the ability to see your decisions turn into results quickly. You won’t be one of dozens of District Managers reporting into layers of regional leadership. You’ll work directly with the owners, lead a team of Store Managers, and have a meaningful role in deciding what Harmony becomes next.

This is a newly created position, so you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the standards, systems, and leadership practices that will support our continued growth.

Join us, and be part of something personal.

The compensation ranges between CAD $70,000.00 and CAD $80,000.00 per year, plus commission based on sales growth across the district. In addition, this position includes a company vehicle, extended health advantages, and paid time off. The final pay offered will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the actual qualifications and experience of the individual.

Harmony Jewelry & Co. is an equal opportunity employer committed to a respectful and inclusive workplace where every team member is valued. We review every application personally.
