Michael’s Trucking is a growing transportation and collection services company that provides operational support to Emterra Group as a contractor. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Route Supervisor to join our team in Surrey and support daily collection operations.

Position Overview The Route Supervisor will oversee daily collection operations and provide leadership and support to drivers in the field. This role is responsible for coordinating routes, monitoring service delivery, responding to operational issues, coaching drivers, and ensuring that safety and service standards are consistently met.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day and will have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Assign drivers to daily routes based on availability, operational requirements, and service needs.
- Oversee the daily execution of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional collection routes.
- Monitor route start-up, progress, completion, and service performance throughout the day.
- Coordinate with drivers to address route delays, missed pickups, equipment issues, and other operational challenges.
- Adjust routes and schedules in real time to minimize service disruptions and delays.
- Respond to customer service issues, missed pickups, urgent service requests, and field-level complaints.
- Coach and support drivers to improve performance, productivity, safety, and service quality.




- Conduct field inspections and follow up on safety or operational concerns.
- Ensure drivers follow company policies, safety procedures, municipal requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Use GPS, dispatch systems, and mobile reporting tools to monitor routes and document service issues.
- Track route productivity, completion rates, service issues, and other operational performance measures.
- Identify opportunities to improve route efficiency, equipment utilization, and resource allocation.
- Work closely with operations and dispatch teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support performance management and provide feedback to drivers as required.
- Promote a strong safety culture and professional service standards across the team.

What You Will Bring

- Valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence – mandatory
- Previous supervisory or lead-hand experience in trucking, waste management, logistics, transportation, or another high-volume operational environment.
- Experience supervising or coordinating frontline drivers is an asset.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate,



and hold employees accountable.
- Experience working with GPS, dispatch systems, route management software, or similar technology.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace and manage changing priorities.
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and transportation regulations.
- A strong commitment to safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operations and dispatch teams.

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
