ACE Vegetation is currently seeking an experienced Sawman to join our team for a FireSmart project in Whitehorse, Yukon.
Responsibilities
- Safely fall, limb and buck trees
- Remove hazardous trees, brush and vegetation
- Complete thinning and fuel-reduction work
- Operate and maintain chainsaws and related equipment
- Follow FireSmart specifications and ACE Vegetation’s safety procedures
- Work effectively as part of a skilled field crew
Qualifications
- Previous professional chainsaw, forestry or vegetation-management experience
- Strong knowledge of safe falling, limbing and bucking practices
- Physically capable of working outdoors in rugged terrain and changing weather conditions
- Valid driver’s licence preferred
- Chainsaw certification and First Aid are considered assets
- Reliable, hardworking and safety-focused
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
