The Opportunity As a Schedule Assurance Lead, you'll play a key role in providing impartial and independent assessment of project schedules during the development and delivery of major rail and infrastructure programmes.

Working within BTTC's Independent Verification and Assurance team, you'll support owners and programme stakeholders by evaluating construction schedules, validating methodologies, identifying risks, and providing robust challenge to ensure projects represent strong value for money and can be delivered successfully. You'll be responsible for establishing confidence in programme schedules through independent review, benchmarking, and schedule assurance activities.

Responsibilities





- Provide independent schedule assurance reviews across major infrastructure programmes
- Support, challenge, and advise project teams on construction schedules produced by supply chain partners
- Conduct schedule health checks to assess compliance with contractual requirements and industry best practice
- Review schedule logic, sequencing, methodologies, assumptions, and programme constraints
- Assess Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) outputs and provide informed feedback and challenge
- Independently analyse schedule assumptions, biases, and programme risks
- Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to review construction means and methods
- Identify programme risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to standardise schedule assurance activities
- Produce clear reports and presentations for senior project stakeholders and governance teams
- Support the development and mentoring of planning and assurance team members
- Contribute to maintaining collaborative relationships between project owners, contractors, and delivery partners

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years' experience in planning, scheduling, project controls, or schedule assurance within major infrastructure programmes
- Extensive experience analysing complex construction schedules within rail, transit, or large infrastructure projects
- Expert knowledge of Oracle Primavera P6, Primavera Risk Analysis, and Acumen Fuse
- Strong understanding of schedule assurance principles, programme controls, and construction sequencing
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and supporting their development
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills,



including presenting findings to senior leaders and project boards
- Ability to influence stakeholders and provide constructive challenge in a complex project environment
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Eligibility to work in Canada or willingness to relocate to Toronto

Desirable Experience

- Experience working within a delivery partner, programme management, or construction management setting
- Professional accreditation such as Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)
- Experience supporting major rail and urban transit programmes
- Experience performing schedule benchmarking and assurance reviews across large, complex projects
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
