Company Description Cyber Jurisprudence International Initiative (CyJurII) is a pioneering platform dedicated to advancing legal thought and governance in the digital age. The initiative examines the intersection of law, cyberspace, and emerging technologies, with focus areas such as AI and law, cybercrime and case law, digital sovereignty, legal cybernetics, cross-border jurisdiction, and cyber rights and ethics. CyJurII brings together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to shape evolving cyber jurisprudence through research, dialogue, and collaborative projects.

Its mission is to develop a dynamic body of legal knowledge that responds to the complexities of the digital world and supports justice in global cyber governance. Volunteers contribute to publications, events, and research that influence policy and academic discourse worldwide.

Role Description The Scholar role at CyJurII is a remote, volunteer position focused on research and thought leadership in cyber jurisprudence. Day-to-day activities may include conducting legal and interdisciplinary research on topics such as AI regulation, cybercrime, and digital rights; drafting articles, policy briefs, and case analyses; and contributing to cooperative publications and online resources. Scholars may support the organization of webinars, roundtables, and academic events,



as well as participate in internal discussions to refine research agendas and project scopes.

The role involves regular communication with an international team of scholars and practitioners, adherence to editorial and research standards, and proactive engagement with current developments in technology and law.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in law, international law, or related disciplines, with demonstrable interest in technology, cyberspace, and digital governance.
- Ability to conduct independent, rigorous legal and interdisciplinary research, including case law analysis and policy review.
- Excellent written communication skills for academic-style writing, policy commentary, and publication-ready documents.
- Capacity to work remotely, manage time effectively, and collaborate across different time zones and cultures.
- Enrollment in or completion of a degree in law, public policy, international relations, computer science, or a related field is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with topics such as AI regulation, cybercrime, human rights online, digital sovereignty, or cross-border jurisdiction is an advantage.
- Comfort with using digital collaboration tools and accessing online legal and academic databases.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical research practices and respect for diversity in perspectives and backgrounds.
