Maracas Bay Consulting Inc. is supporting a public sector initiative and is looking to engage an experienced incorporated Scrum Master to support digital transformation, service innovation, program review and product delivery initiatives.

Contract: Long Term

Hours: 36.25 hours per week / 7.25 hours per day

Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM MT

Location: Remote within Canada (with occasional to onsite travel to Edmonton Alberta as required)

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, demos, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Coach cross-functional teams on Agile/Scrum practices, estimation, sprint commitments, dependencies, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Product Owners on backlog management, release planning, roadmaps, and delivery priorities.
- Identify and remove impediments and help teams become self-organizing and accountable.
- Track and report delivery metrics including velocity, burndown, sprint progress, and quality.
- Support digital service delivery, user research, usability testing, and service/design activities.
- Communicate technical changes and delivery impacts clearly to business and technical stakeholders.

AI & Automation Experience:





- Hands-on use of Generative AI and agentic tools to support Scrum Master activities.
- Experience with prompt design, RAG/structured retrieval, meeting synthesis, backlog support, reporting, and workflow automation.
- Ability to evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, privacy, security, hallucination, and appropriate use.
- Understanding of process automation, digital forms, structured intake, status reporting, and agentic process orchestration.

Mandatory Requirements:

- Active Scrum Master certification.
- 3 years leading/facilitating Agile ceremonies.
- 3 years working in an Agile development environment.
- 2 years coaching teams on Agile methodologies.
- Strong experience working with Product Owners and cross-functional delivery teams.

Preferred:

- North American Public sector experience.
- Digital transformation/service delivery experience.
- UX/service design experience.
- CI/CD and automated testing exposure.
- Experience using AI tools to improve Scrum Master responsibilities.
