GeoSpectrum is growing and has a recent career opportunity for an experienced Security Manager!
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Compliance and Assets, the Security Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of GeoSpectrum Technologies' physical security and government security compliance programs. This role ensures the protection of company personnel, facilities, information, and assets through the effective operation of security systems, enforcement of security policies, and coordination with internal and external security stakeholders.
As the organization's subject matter expert in physical security and government security compliance, the Security Manager works closely with leadership, employees, contractors, government representatives, and other security stakeholders to help protect and strengthen our operations. The role also serves as the Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO), exercising delegated authority in support of organizational security obligations, while supporting Controlled Goods Program (CGP) compliance as a Designated Official.
Responsibilities
Physical Security
- Lead and continuously improve the organization's physical security and government compliance programs, ensuring the protection of personnel, information, and assets.
- Oversee physical security systems, including access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, alarms, and perimeter protection, ensuring they remain effective and operational.
- Identify and implement security enhancements, system upgrades, and protective measures to strengthen the organization's overall security posture.
- Manage personnel and visitor access, including badging, access authorizations, security clearances, and controls for restricted areas.
Security Compliance & Governance:
- Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies, procedures, standards, and controls while promoting a culture of security awareness and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with corporate, contractual, government, and Controlled Goods Program (CGP) requirements, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Conduct security audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities, address compliance gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
Incident Management & Risk Mitigation:
- Investigate security incidents, breaches, and violations, performing root cause analyses and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Support incident response activities and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are implemented to reduce risk and prevent recurrence.
Security Program Administration & Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a key liaison with the Company Security Officer (CSO), government representatives, and external auditors on security-related matters, inspections, and reporting.
- Support CSO and ACSO responsibilities, including security program administration, incident response, employee security awareness,
and facility and personnel security clearance activities.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in physical security management within regulated, secure, or government-contract environments.
- Experience managing security systems, access control programs, and security compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting or participating in internal and external security audits and inspections.
- Familiarity with government security programs, classified environments, or controlled-access operations is considered an asset.
- Industrial Security Professional (ISP®) certification considered an asset.
- ASIS International certifications (CPP, PSP, or PCI) considered assets.
- Government security, investigation, audit, or risk assessment certifications considered assets.

- Ability to work effectively with government agencies, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders.
Transferable Skills
- Strong working knowledge of access control systems, surveillance technologies, intrusion detection systems, and physical security practices.
- Thorough understanding of security risk assessment and mitigation methodologies.
- Knowledge of government security programs, classified operations, and controlled-access environments.
- Experience conducting security audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective action management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and security management systems.
Security Requirements All candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.
