Boniface Hospital Department / Unit: SBGH Pathology/Histology Anticipated Shift: Days;Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Under the direction of the Charge Technologist(s) or designate, and the lead Pathologist, the Senior Autopsy Technical Assistant (ATA) will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of all autopsy-related staff and operations at both HSC and SBH Autopsy departments.
The incumbent will maintain a safe work environment in accordance with qualified and provincial guidelines, and assure compliance with quality assurance policies and maintain standards put forth by Accreditation. Functions are conducted in accordance with the Mission and Values of Shared Health Diagnostic Services, current policies, procedures, and applicable legislation. Minimum three years recent related work experience required.
Supervisory experience an asset. Two-year post-secondary education including anatomy and physiology or equivalent preferred. Must participate in ongoing education and training in new techniques.
Apply technical knowledge to troubleshooting and assessing of methods.
OCME, Law Enforcement, Funeral Homes, Admitting, Transport, other. Proficient in Microsoft Office and applicable clinical applications. Risk for emotionally challenging work. Travel to both facilities conducting autopsies is required.
