Sedgman Novopro Ltd is currently looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Montreal, Quebec. He/she will be responsible for leading and providing technical support on structural engineering projects; this includes conducting structural design, investigation, managing project budgets and schedules, as well as preparing technical reports. The ideal incumbent will be a mentor and coach to a young and enthusiastic team.

Sedgman is a consulting engineering company in the mining space and is currently experiencing a rapid expansion of the Montreal office; they are positioned for growth, and this role is business critical within the organization. What does this role involve? Main Responsibilities:

- Lead project development of structural and concrete designs ensuring compliance with relevant codes, industry standards.

- Lead concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs

- Perform detailed concrete and steel design,



including interaction with Drafters to produce models and documentation in line with QA Compliance

- Assist with construction enquiries, including safe lifting and erection

- Interface with other Engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Process and Mechanical

- Focus on technical innovation and continuous improvement

- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

What are we looking for in our future team member? Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering

- Member of the ordre des ingenieurs du Québec OIQ (Professional.Engineer in Quebec);

- 15+ years of structural engineering experience, with at least 5 in years in a lead or senior role

- Strong understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures.

- Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in design/consultancy/operational environments

- Previous mining or metals industry experience is highly desired

- Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities and activities

- Well-developed communication and negotiation skills

- Experience with Canadian building code across the provinces is desirable

- Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship

- Language requirements: excellent spoken and written French. Solid spoken English skills are required due to daily contact with clients,suppliers, partners, and colleagues based outside Quebec.
