Senior Tax Manager

A high‑growth global technology company is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to report to the VP, Tax. This role will help execute the organization’s global tax strategy, compliance, and financial reporting programs. It’s a hands‑on opportunity to build a world‑class in‑house tax function from the ground up, partnering closely with Finance, Product, R&D;, and People teams.

What You’ll Do

- Manage the global tax compliance calendar, ensuring timely and accurate filings across Canada, USA, Europe, Australia, and LATAM, while overseeing external preparers and advisors.
- Coordinate responses to tax audits and authority inquiries, including preparation of supporting documentation.
- Manage nexus considerations, track exposures from employee mobility and new operating entities, and implement controls to mitigate permanent establishment risk.
- Monitor and interpret new international tax legislation (e.g., Pillar 2 global minimum tax, EIFEL interest limitation rules) and build documentation/reporting infrastructure to comply.
- Maintain the enterprise tax risk register and proactively identify emerging exposures.
- Prepare the global income tax provision (ASC 740) in accordance with US GAAP.
- Design, implement, and maintain tax documentation and internal controls aligned with SOX‑like standards.
- Prepare materials supporting updates and risk assessments for executive‑level reporting.
- Mentor and develop junior tax team members as the function scales.

- Support ad‑hoc tax and finance projects as required.
- Support the design and maintenance of a globally optimized tax structure — including transfer pricing documentation and IP planning — to sustainably manage the company’s effective tax rate.
- Partner with Product, R&D;, and Sales & Marketing teams on tax implications of new products and market expansion.
- Assist in managing the global R&D; tax credit program, working with R&D; and People teams to track eligible activities and personnel across jurisdictions.
- Support tax due diligence and integration workstreams for acquired companies.

What You’ll Bring

- CPA, CA (or equivalent) designation with 8+ years of progressive tax experience, ideally spanning public accounting and an in‑house role at a multinational or technology company.
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP income tax accounting (ASC 740), transfer pricing, and cross‑border compliance.
- Hands‑on experience with corporate income tax and indirect tax (Sales/Use, VAT/GST) across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience in SaaS, technology, or high‑growth environments is preferred.
- A collaborative, business‑partner mindset — able to translate tax technical detail for Product, R&D;, and People stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills and comfort operating autonomously in a rapid‑scaling environment.
- Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools (e.g., research automation, provisioning working papers, compliance workflows) and interest in modernizing the tax function.
