Title: Software Engineer

Location: Toronto (4 days hybrid)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Java & Kotlin Developer to join our engineering team and build scalable, high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java and Kotlin, backend development, API integration, microservices, and cloud-based technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using Java and Kotlin.
- Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, architects, and frontend developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Develop clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application performance and production issues.
- Integrate applications with databases, third-party services, and external APIs.
- Write unit and integration tests and ensure high-quality code coverage.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies,



sprint planning, and technical refinement sessions.
- Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and application deployments.
- Monitor application performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+.
- Strong experience with Kotlin and Kotlin-based application development.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Framework.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, Microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software development principles.
- Experience writing JUnit/Mockito unit and integration tests.
- Good understanding of application security, authentication, and authorization.
