The successful candidate will work closely with the SOC Manager. The ideal candidate will have an energetic, can-do attitude and be comfortable working in a metrics-driven setting, delivering results and supporting team members.

Summary/Objective

We are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Solutions Engineer to join our team to play a vital and exciting role in driving our success. As a trusted technical expert and strategic partner to our sales team, the Solutions Engineer helps validate technical components and showcase the true value of our solutions. With a combination of technical expertise and dynamic sales acumen, the ideal candidate will inspire confidence and engagement with both current and prospective clients—delivering impactful demonstrations and tailored consultations that illustrate how our solutions address real customer needs and remove sales barriers.

The core function of this role is to support and accelerate penetration and growth across our core MSSP business.

The Solutions

Engineer will serve as the key technical liaison between sales and technical delivery teams—translating complex technology into clear business value for clients and ensuring alignment between client needs and solution design. Additionally, this individual will support solution engineering efforts across other technical departments, including Risk Management Services (RMS), Incident Response (IR), and IT Services (ITS) as needed, ensuring consistency and cohesion across CyberClan’s full suite of offerings.

Essential Functions

Technical Solution Design & Architecture

- Design tailored security solution architectures aligned with client objectives and operational requirements
- Develop comprehensive technical proposals, solution briefs, and supporting documentation
- Lead proof of concept (PoC) initiatives, including design, execution, and validation of security technologies
- Align security solutions with defined client use cases, regulatory requirements, and desired business outcomes
- Architect and integrate enterprise-grade security solutions, including EDR, SIEM,



and Email Security platforms
- Define and document technical implementation strategies, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks

Strategic Advisory

- Provide high-impact security guidance and architecture recommendations tailored to client environments and business objectives
- Develop security maturity roadmaps, technical best practices, and implementation blueprints
- Monitor evolving threat landscapes and technology trends to inform sales strategy and client advisory discussions
- Identify opportunities to enhance security posture through cross-solution alignment and continuous improvement recommendations
- Identify core functions in tool sets that may benefit clients and improve pipeline via campaigns and initiatives

Pre-Sales Technical Support & Consultation

- Take ownership of technical presentations and client discovery phases, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives
- Work with Account Managers on account mapping to identify strategic targets and expansion opportunities
- Ensure a developed and repeatable demo, presentation, and proof-of-concept (PoC) process is in place for all key MSSP service lines
- Identify and promote regional cross-pollination of services by replicating successful implementations across new or underserved markets
- Lead technical components of RFP responses, including solution architecture, bid strategy, and SOW development
- Manage technical objections by proactively researching client-specific needs and solution nuances, turning potential barriers into opportunities through value-driven insights and differentiated technical capabilities

Solution Validation & Proof of Concept

- Demonstrate solution effectiveness, performance, and security capabilities prior to go-to market or deployment
- Work closely with SOC Leads and the SOC Manager on implementation and new service delivery projects that enhance SOC capabilities and elevate the client experience
- Translate PoC findings into actionable insights that support sales enablement and technical sign off

Product Knowledge & Market Intelligence

- Develop solution comparison frameworks and conduct competitive analysis to support positioning and differentiation
- Conduct continuous research on threat actor behavior, cybersecurity tactics, and evolving threat landscapes

Customer Relationship Management

- Maintain accurate and timely lead, account, and opportunity data within the CRM platform (e.g., Salesforce)




- Assist in client escalations by applying technical expertise and leveraging established relationships to drive resolution and reinforce trust

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Number of Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) and product demos delivered per quarter
- Volume and quality of client-facing technical presentations
- RFP submission volume and conversion rate to awarded engagements
- Pipeline generation tied to technical engagement and pre-sales activities
- Opportunity-to-win conversion rates
- Contribution to deal closures and alignment with overall sales targets

Required Skills and Experience

Technical Expertise

- Expert understanding of cybersecurity, threat actor tactics, and network compromise techniques
- Deep knowledge of leading EDR, SIEM, and Email Security solutions and their configurations
- Experience with penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and risk auditing services
- Understanding of integration requirements, technical ecosystems, and compliance standards
- Experience with product demonstrations and proof-of-concept implementations

Sales & Business Acumen

- 5+ years of sales engineering or customer-facing technical pre-sales experience
- Track record of supporting and closing enterprise deals
- Experience in competitive technical positioning

Communication & Presentation Skills

- Excellence in technical presentations to diverse audiences including C-level executives
- Bilingual in French and English is preferred but not required
- Strong discovery, questioning, and negotiation techniques
- Effective written communication for proposals, documentation, and RFP responses

Leadership & Collaboration

- Ability to work cross-functionally with product, marketing, sales, and project management teams
- History of influencing product roadmap based on market needs
- Project management capabilities for complex customer engagements

Required Education & Certifications

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or related field
- IT security certification/accreditation or equivalent experience

Compensation

$90,000 - $110,000 CAD A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications & location
