Senior Geotechnical
Engineer AECOM is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our Tailings and Mine Waste team in Canada to lead tailings dam design and serve as an Engineer of Record for tailings management projects across Canada and elsewhere. This role emphasizes technical leadership and project execution, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with regulatory standards in tailings management. Lead the technical delivery of conceptual through detailed designs of mine waste management facilities (e.g., tailings dams, filtered stacks, co-disposal facilities, waste dumps) and water management facilities (e.g., mine water retention dams, seepage collection ponds).
Provide technical direction and mentorship to technical team members. Perform independent technical reviews of engineering reports and designs. Provide expert advice to clients on engineering matters, including compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Actively participate in AECOM’s Technical Practice Group. Partner with clients to develop long‑term, sustainable solutions. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline. ~Previous experience serving as Engineer of Record for large tailings facilities.
Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline. ~Highly collaborative,
