Role Description This full-time Structural Engineer role is a hybrid position based in Abbotsford, BC, with a mix of in-office and work-from-home flexibility.

The Structural

Engineer will perform structural analysis and design for new construction, renovations, and retrofits, preparing calculations, drawings, and specifications that meet applicable codes and standards. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing architectural and civil plans, developing structural systems, coordinating with CAD technicians, and collaborating with internal and external project teams. The role involves conducting site visits and inspections, documenting findings, and providing clear reports and recommendations.

The Structural

Engineer will also support project management activities, such as scheduling, responding to RFIs,



and participating in client meetings to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to building design and assessment.
- Proficiency in Structural Analysis and Calculations to design safe, efficient, and code-compliant structural systems.
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for preparing and reviewing structural drawings and details.
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline; registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia is a requirement.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and materials (e.g., concrete, steel, wood, masonry) used in structural design.
- Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical information clearly in written and verbal form.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Previous experience in building science, structural assessment, or construction-related roles is considered beneficial.
