Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and food handling within the food industry, particularly in a restaurant setting. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while adhering to strict food safety standards.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality by conducting regular inventory checks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, following all food safety protocols.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal food quality.




- Uphold excellent customer service by interacting positively with guests when necessary.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food service industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Proficiency in meal preparation techniques specific to sushi and Japanese cuisine.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A passion for culinary arts with a willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
