WHO WE ARE
Since 1994, New North Fuels has been keeping Northeastern Ontario warm and moving. As one of the largest heating oil and fuel distributors in the region, our teams deliver heating oil, fuels and lubricants to homes, businesses and industries from our offices in Sudbury, Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie and Massey, and our bulk plant in Little Current. Our promise is simple: always there when you need us.
New North Fuels is part of PetroNor, a leading energy provider in Northern Quebec. PetroNor serves the road and air transportation, construction, forestry and mining sectors across Eeyou Istchee Baie-James and Abitibi-Témiscamingue, and counts Suncor Energy, owner of the Petro-Canada brand, among its shareholders. Together, we share one ambition: to be the leading essential energy provider for Northern Quebec and Ontario, driven by innovation, safety and social responsibility.
THE PROSPECT
Timmins is one of the hardest-working corners of this country, and the mines, fleets, contractors and mills that keep it running all need one thing: fuel they can count on. That is where you come in. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will own the Timmins region and the communities around it. You will open doors, build relationships that last decades, and grow a portfolio of commercial and industrial accounts that already has real momentum behind it.
This is not a script-and-quota sales job. You will be out in the field, in the yards and on the job sites, trusted to run your territory like it is your own business, with the backing of a company that has been part of the North for over thirty years.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Grow the territory
- Prospect and develop new commercial and industrial clients
- Manage and grow an established portfolio of B2B accounts
- Assess customer fuel needs and recommend the right solutions
- Negotiate pricing, terms and supply agreements
- Represent New North Fuels professionally in the field and in the community
Own the numbers
- Monitor sales volumes, margins and performance targets
- Conduct market intelligence on competitors and pricing trends
- Maintain accurate customer data and activity records in the CRM
- Spot opportunities others miss and act on them
Work as one team
- Collaborate with logistics, customer service and billing to deliver on every promise made
- Bring the voice of the customer back to the business
- Share what you learn in the field so the whole team gets sharper
WHAT YOU BRING
Requirements
- Experience in B2B, commercial or industrial sales, ideally with a track record of growing a territory
- Robust negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfort working independently, organizing your own time and owning your results
- Solid business sense and confidence with volumes, margins and pricing
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the region
Assets
- Experience in fuel, energy, transportation, mining, forestry or industrial distribution
- Existing network in the Timmins region and surrounding communities
- Bilingualism (English and French)
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Someone who would rather be in a truck than behind a desk. You listen more than you pitch, you follow through on what you promise, and you understand that in the North a handshake still means something. You are self-driven, competitive in the best sense of the word, and you take real pride in being the person a customer calls first.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive base salary plus an attractive commission structure with real earning potential
- Company vehicle or car allowance
- Comprehensive group benefits
- Retirement savings plan
- Company-provided phone, laptop and sales tools
- A high level of autonomy and the stability of an established company
WHY JOIN US
Sell something that matters. Fuel is essential. Demand is steady, the customers are real, and the work never stops being relevant.
Inherit momentum. You are not starting from zero. You are taking over an established customer base with reliable room to grow.
Run your own show. Respectful, autonomous and entrepreneurial: you will be trusted to make decisions and judged on results, not hours at a desk.
Grow with a northern leader. Join a team rooted in Northern Ontario, backed by an energy network spanning two provinces.
OUR COMMITMENT TO INCLUSION
New North Fuels is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all qualified candidates, including women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities. Accommodations are available upon request at every stage of the recruitment process, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
