Standard Truck Sales is seeking a highly skilled and energetic Truck Mechanic specializing in highway trucks to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining large commercial trucks that operate on highways, ensuring they meet safety standards and operate at peak performance. Your expertise will keep our fleet reliable, safe, and ready for the road.

Duties

- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on highway trucks to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, steering components, and exhaust systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical problems.
- Service auxiliary equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment as needed.
- Operate heavy machinery for testing repairs or during maintenance procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, inspections, parts used, and service history for each vehicle.




- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.

Skills

- Proven mechanic experience with dealership backgrounds or extensive hands-on work with heavy-duty trucks and industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning), and schematics reading.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software.
- Experience working with heavy lifting equipment and performing maintenance on excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics for complex systems repair.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding repairs or service needs.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including industrial machinery used in construction or agricultural settings.
- Capable of performing heavy lifting safely while maintaining high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
