In this energetic role, you will be actively involved in assembling, machining, and welding trusses used in residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. Duties

- Clearly understand all objectives and expectations daily
- Increase efficiencies using a cost-effective approach.
- Read, interpret, and follow computer designs to create roof truss systems
- Select lumber and tools required to assemble trusses
- Follows build sheets, table set up, plate selection, assemble trusses, use of hammer and other
- tools to secure plates, up and down off the table during building with use of a ladder
- Offloads trusses from the rollers and cart manipulation
- Communicates and works together with all team members to help get all tasks completed in a
- timely manner
- Operating saws to cut materials to appropriate size, following safe work procedures
- Perform quality control and assurance on finished products
- Reacts to any events that may affect the yard by providing solutions and corrective actions
- Assist in preventative maintenance programs
- Ensures proper and secure handling and storage of products to minimize any damage and contribute to the year end profitability of the operation.




- Plans the delivery of incoming product so that material has a “home” upon its arrival.
- Continually monitors the condition of equipment.
- Maintains and analyzes records of maintenance and repairs by unit.
- Ensures that logbooks and inspection sheets are maintained daily.
- Assists with building loads for delivery as required

Skills

- High energy level that is demonstrated in the yard
- Has a high sense of urgency and drive; able to set priorities and deliver results within deadlines
- Positive attitude when dealing with both customers and co-workers
- Exemplary listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret plans and construction drawings or willingness to learn
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Physically demanding. Medium and heavy lifting is a major component of this position. Use of ladders and lifting techniques when required.
- Experience in the building construction industry an asset
- Basic math skills are required
- Background in manufacturing or construction environments is highly desirable
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new techniques and maintaining safety standards
