We are a transportation company specializing in big and bulky items, and we are looking for a dependable Warehouse Supervisor to join our Edmonton team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activity, managing inventory accuracy, supporting storage contract requirements, managing customer relationships with storage account contacts, and ensuring returns are handled efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, staging, returns, and outbound product movement.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, audits, reconciliations, and system updates.
- Oversee storage contracts to ensure customer inventory is received, stored, handled, and released according to agreed service standards.
- Own day-to-day communication and relationship management with storage customer contacts, including inventory updates, storage requests, release timing, issue resolution, and service follow-up.
- Manage the returns process, including inspection, documentation, product disposition, customer communication support, and follow-up on outstanding return items.
- Ensure big and bulky products are handled safely to prevent damage to products, property, equipment, and team members.
- Lead, train, and support warehouse staff to maintain productivity, accuracy, safety, and accountability.
- Monitor warehouse organization, space utilization, cleanliness,
and product placement to support efficient operations.
- Work closely with dispatch, transportation, customer service, and operations teams to support delivery schedules and service commitments.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, damages, missed scans, and process gaps, then implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, equipment requirements, and warehouse SOPs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous warehouse supervisory, lead hand, or inventory control experience preferred.
- Experience working with large, heavy, or bulky products is considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of inventory control, cycle counting, storage practices, and returns management.
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced warehouse and transportation environment.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable using warehouse management systems, inventory software, scanners, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Forklift or material handling equipment experience is an asset.
- Commitment to safety, accuracy, customer service, and operational excellence.
