Position Title: Work Integrated Learning Compliance Specialist

Status: Full-time Support

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health & Life Sciences, School of Nursing

Campus/Location: North Campus

Payband: G

Salary Range: $35.29 - $40.73

Starting Salary: $35.29; Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.

About the Work Integrated Learning Compliance Specialist Role

Under the general direction of and reporting to the Operations Manager, WIL, School of Nursing, the incumbent, a registered health care provider provides comprehensive health education on pre‑requisite medical and non‑medical requirements. Screen all medical and non‑medical requirements prior to placement.



They also conduct Pre‑requisite screening services including mask fit testing to all students in the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences (FHLS). The incumbent ensures that students are prepared and have met all of the medical and non‑medical pre‑requisites required of a placement setting, as outlined in affiliation agreements, partnering with the faculty to provide students with practice based education. All data collected is entered into a secure site for periodic review by the Clearance Officer to ensure that the student remains in compliance with requirements as outlined in the affiliation agreements. The incumbent conducts their work in a confidential manner mindful and compliant with legislation around health records and personal health information in PHIPA 2004 and FIPPA 2012.

Education And Experience

- 3/4year diploma/degree plus professional certification, or equivalent in Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- The Canadian Paediatric Society - Education Program for Immunization Competencies (EPIC) course, CPR, Mental health first aid, Crisis Prevention, IB Phlebotomy
- Experience working in primary care/acute care with immunization/Phlebotomy programs Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively using multiple modalities
