Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering exceptional customer service with a positive, professional approach and attitude
- Being dependable for scheduled shifts
- Maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly location at all times
- Operating and maintaining all equipment and tools in a safe and reasonable manner
- Adhering to all Evergreen Co-op policies and procedures and following all OH&S; regulations
- Delivering product in a timely manner, ensuring loads are correct and delivered on time
- Receiving merchandise as directed by the Lumber Manager
- Providing information, assistance and service to customers in a manner which will promote the sale of merchandise and meet the needs, requirements and expectations of the consumer
- Ensuring employees maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment where employee’s wellbeing is paramount
- Supervising staff to ensure they adhere to staff appearance, housekeeping, loss prevention, and customer service standards
- Communicating effectively with the Lumber Manager on any issues that may arise
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- Organizational skills and excellent time management
- Ability to work independently in a team environment
- Class 3 license would be an asset
- Picker/forklift training would be an asset
- Previous retail and lumber experience would be an asset
- Working knowledge of hardware, home centre, products, and building supplies is essential
- Ability to handle multiple demands at once while providing excellent customer service
- Commitment to Co-op’s values and principles
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Previous supervisory experience
