What is the role?Carmacks, in partnership with Peters Bros, is looking to hire a Project Coordinator for Highway South & Recycling HIP. Reporting to the Construction Manager, Highways Division, the role contributes to the goals and profits of the company by supporting the Project Management team. The Project Coordinator will build roads primarily with paving works and recycling, working mainly with the field Superintendent and Project Manager. The position is based in Penticton, with 50% office and 50% on site, requiring frequent presence at the project during the production season.Duties and responsibilitiesTrack and reconcile materials supplied and delivered.Manage and track truck haul tickets and summarize using spreadsheets.Maintain daily and weekly inventory balances for pits, stockpiles, transfers, and job consumption.Reconcile scale tickets, haul sheets, and production logs; investigate discrepancies proactively.Coordinate with foremen, pit managers, and trucking to align physical counts with system balances.Prepare month‐end inventory roll‐forwards and variance explanations for Finance.Track material quality documentation (QC results, gradations) aligned to usage and pay items.Assist Accounts Payable with invoicing.Ensure timely accurate communication of all information and completion of all required documentation.Help the Project Manager prepare progress reports and invoices for work completed.Assist in the estimating process by evaluating bid specifications and drawings to ensure that everything required for a successful bid is addressed.Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, negotiating price, and following up as required.Review projects, analyzing and documenting estimated vs. actual costs, and the whole job – what was done, when, how,



why – using this data for estimating work/projects.Review contracts concerning insurance and bonding and order bonding as needed.Identify and implement efficiencies, process improvements and ways to save money.Use the company ERP: SAP.What do we value?Entry level: Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Bachelor's degree or relevant industry experience.Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts, and project coordination processes.Solid knowledge of civil construction practices, including grading, paving, and utilities.Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.Minimum Class 5 Driver's license with a clean abstract.PreferredExperience working with contractors on municipal or highway projects.Knowledge of ERP: SAP.Familiarity with local regulations and standards (e.G., provincial specifications).Experience with quantity tracking and cost control systems.Working ConditionsCombination of office and field work environments.Travel to project sites may be required.Living out allowance (LOA) is provided when working remote.Ability to work in a fast‐paced construction environment with changing priorities.Salary range is between $68,000-$80,000/yr, depending on qualifications and experiences.What's in it for you?Competitive compensation package.Company Vehicle.Dental care.Extended health care.Matching RRSP.Employee stock purchase plan.Employee assistance program.Free on‐site parking.Growth opportunities.Company events.Ability to commute/relocatePenticton, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred).Pourquoi nous rejoindre ?Peters Brothers Construction Ltd is the premier paving contractor for the heartland of British Columbia.
