Each day on this route looks a little different. You'll be responsible for

sorting, collecting, and delivering mail items

in a safe and timely manner while getting to know the local roads, customers, and delivery receptacles that make up your assigned area. You'll also handle a range of

Canada Post products and services

— from Change of Address Notifications to Damaged Mail processing — and represent the organization professionally while wearing your

Canada Post identification

at all times during delivery. Safety is front and centre in this position. You'll need to operate your personal vehicle responsibly across varying weather and traffic conditions, ensure all mail items are properly secured, and handle packages weighing

up to 50 lb (22.7 kg) . A working knowledge of local infrastructure builds over time,

As an

on-call relief mail carrier , your work keeps rural and suburban communities connected. From sorting at the start of your shift to completing final deliveries, every task plays a role in Canada Post's promise to deliver reliably across the country. Sort, collect, and deliver

mail items in a safe and timely manner along assigned rural and suburban routes Acquire and maintain

knowledge of local infrastructure, including roads, customers, and delivery receptacles Secure all mail items





properly while in your possession throughout the delivery process Process Canada Post products and services

including Change of Address Notifications, Damaged Mail, and Items Delivered Bills (IDB) Wear Canada Post identification

while on duty and ensure it remains visible during all deliveries and collections Lift and carry packages

weighing up to 50 lb (22.7 kg) as required Operate a personal motor vehicle

safely across all weather and traffic conditions Requirements / Skills

is looking for individuals with a clean driving record, solid organizational skills, and the flexibility that comes with on-call work. A

French language requirement (French Essential)

applies for this position in Saint-Apollinaire, QC. Valid permanent provincial driver's licence

— Class 5 or G required Satisfactory safe driving record

— a driver's abstract will be required Personal vehicle meeting mandatory requirements : minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1,415 litres), automatic transmission, power windows, metal roof-top with accessory power outlet, passenger window sill height between 38" and 45" from the ground, maximum interior width of 56", and preferably a fifth door/hatchback Automobile liability insurance

covering the use of your vehicle for Canada Post deliveries, with your insurer notified accordingly Experience making deliveries

and operating a motor vehicle in diverse weather and traffic conditions Residency within 75 km

of the Saint-Apollinaire Post Office is preferred
