- Support children, youth, and families across early intervention, school-aged OT/PT support, and CYSN Family Support programs
- Participate in family interviews and conduct intake visits
- Gather relevant information and assess family needs
- Help address challenges affecting access to services and supports
- Advocate for families and assist them in navigating and accessing appropriate community resources and services
- Provide educational opportunities for staff, families, and community partners
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, service systems, and diverse cultural and community groups
- Travel regularly between FVCDC locations and throughout served communities, including family homes, childcare settings, schools, community locations, and other service sites
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in child and youth care, psychology, social work, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum three years of relevant experience working with children and families in a pediatric, child development, social services, or related setting
- Training and experience supporting families experiencing stress or complex circumstances
- Experience with assessment, advocacy, service navigation, and connecting families with community resources
- Working knowledge of government, health, social service, and community programs supporting children and families
- Ability to foster effective interdisciplinary teamwork
- Strong skilled written and verbal communication skills, including active listening
- Strong time-management, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of child development and the impact of diverse abilities on development and family functioning
- Demonstrated knowledge of family-centred practice and relationship-based interventions
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to organize and facilitate workshops, meetings, groups, and educational activities
- Ability to work effectively with families and communities from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and lived-experience backgrounds
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
- A valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle for work-related travel are required
