Job Description: Reporting into the group led by the Vice President, Head of Regulatory Office, you will be responsible for preparing Committee and Board reporting on behalf of the Enterprise Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), while also helping shape the broader risk story for senior audiences. This role requires more than strong writing and process coordination; it requires compliance and risk depth, sound judgment, and the ability to tell the story of what has changed, what matters, what risk is emerging, and what action should follow. In partnership with senior Compliance team members, this role is critical for reporting on, assessing and managing risks that could affect the organization's performance and regulatory obligations across various jurisdictions. In addition,
this role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and global leadership to ensure risk and compliance initiatives align with the company's strategic objectives. This individual will have the opportunity to be a key member and contributor to a small team with a large mandate. Working with senior stakeholders across enterprise compliance teams, the Director, Regulatory Compliance Reporting will drive global compliance reporting, develop quantitative metrics underpinning our KRI frameworks, and bring structure, discipline, and insight to complex inputs from across business lines, jurisdictions, regulatory requirements, and key stakeholders. The role requires someone who can work independently, exercise mature judgment under tight reporting timelines, and produce clear insights and analytics on Sun Life's compliance with global regulatory requirements for the Board and senior management. You will demonstrate high personal and professional standards, act with integrity, and in valuable faith for the best interests of Sun Life, and operate with intention to meet the Compliance Team Purpose of being trusted partners for the mitigation of compliance risks by providing advice, oversight and challenge in support of helping Clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives. What will you do?
Take the lead by working with senior executives across Sun Life, including Business Group Chief Compliance Officers (CCOs) and Corporate Functional Leaders,
to prepare quarterly, annual and ad hoc Board and committee reporting on behalf of the Enterprise Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) Develop global reporting methodologies that bring consistency, structure and transparency to compliance risk reporting across the enterprise With a focus on storytelling, craft narratives that not only inform but also clearly explain what has changed, why it matters, where risk may be emerging, and what actions or decisions are required Liaise with other key oversight teams (e.g. Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit, Enterprise Compliance) to ensure completeness and accuracy of various inputs into Compliance Reporting (e.g. issues management, internal audit findings etc.) Review, test and challenge reporting from Business Group CCOs and Corporate Functional Area teams to ensure Enterprise CCO reporting is complete, accurate, risk-based, and appropriately reflects Sun Life's Compliance posture Apply sound judgment during tight reporting cycles, including knowing when to probe, *escalate*, simplify, or reframe inputs so senior leaders receive clear, decision-useful information Identify regulatory themes and trends across the industry - locally and globally - and provide summarized, analysis (including impact assessment) for reporting, i.e. development of a regulatory "heat map" Be strategic in reviewing, creating and re-designing reports and their supporting processes to drive value-add reporting for the Compliance function Act as a subject matter expert and 'go to' person for perspectives on regulatory themes, trends, areas of focus and developments impacting Sun Life Identify and define key risk indicators in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment
