The Opportunity The Director of Planning & Inventory will lead the Ontario Corrugated team’s supply and inventory planning function to ensure customers receive their desired product at the service level they expect. Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain & Strategy, this role is critical for building organizational planning capability to support sustainable, profitable growth. It ensures alignment between business strategy and operational execution across production, procurement, and distribution.

The Director of Planning & Inventory leads a team of managers, planners and analysts with a focus on driving structure, establishing best practices for planning tools and processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy, machine utilization, inventory efficiency, and overall supply chain responsiveness.

What You’ll Do

Oversee the development and execution of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP;/IBP) process, ensuring alignment between demand, capacity, and financial plans across the organization

Direct inventory strategy to balance customer service levels with working capital objectives, minimizing excess/obsolete stock while preventing stockouts

Oversee supply planning and production scheduling alignment, ensuring plans reflect realistic capacity, lead times, and material availability

Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing planning team, including senior managers, plant-floor schedulers and inventory analysts





Partner with Sales and Business Performance teams to ensure the demand forecast can be utilized most effectively for capacity planning

Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Mills, and Sales to resolve supply-demand imbalances and support integrated business decision-making

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) — including forecast accuracy, scheduling compliance, inventory turns, fill rate, and on-time in full delivery — and drive corrective action where targets are not met

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning maturity, process efficiency, and responsiveness to demand volatility

Provide senior leadership with visibility into planning risks, opportunities, and trade-offs to support strategic decision-making

What You Bring The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and leadership skills, deep expertise in demand and supply planning methodologies, and a track record of driving results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Required

Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field

Certificate in Supply Chain Management considered an asset; APICS/ASCM,CPIM, CSCP or CPF

Experience building tools in PowerBI considered an asset

8+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, supply planning, or inventory management, including 3–5+ years in a leadership role

Robust track-record of developing high-performing teams while overseeing day-to-day operations

Proven experience leading S&OP;/IBP processes in a manufacturing environment

Proven experience in improving capacity/demand planning processes, inventory efficiency, and service levels in a complex,



fast-paced setting

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Excellent analytical skills with an ability to manipulate large data sets and present analyses in a clear, concise manner

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights for various groups of stakeholders

Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify metrics related to business processes, improving results through effective processes

Demonstrated proficiency in time management

Hiring Range:

$134,996 - $168,745
