Basic Requirements
4-year Undergraduate Degree in Financial Management, Business Administration, Health Information Science, or other relevant area.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Previous experience in a Financial or Clinical setting
Significant experience with complex systems and with linking and analyzing healthcare or other large data sets
Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying guidelines in a consistent and accurate manner
Expertise in reviewing financial and non-financial data analyses and providing recommendations
Experience collaborating with senior leadership across multiple, varied departments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong organization and documentation skills
Demonstrated initiative in the workplace
Good supervisory skills, ability to provide guidance and feedback
Ability to manage complex systems and implement strong internal controls
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Experience with databases and programming (e.g. SQL, SAS, or similar programming language)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Financial Management, Business Administration, or Health Information Science
Knowledge of the Ontario Hospital Reporting Standards (OHRS), CIHI databases, Ministry of Health financial and statistical reporting and/or knowledge of Ontario Case Costing Guidelines
Knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion, Hospital Information Systems (EPIC) and Crystal Reports
Previous healthcare analytical experience
Professional Accounting Designation
Project management skills and experience
Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced).
The Ottawa Hospital uses a
5-level language proficiency scale
to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English speaking clients.
