- Support the creation of daily schedules and work closely with Operations and internal GFL shops to meet maintenance needs
- Support scheduling third-party work on assets while considering operational schedules and timelines
- Liaise between operations and maintenance staff as required
- Identify optimization opportunities for effective resource use
- Serve as the point of contact for customer and other inquiries to the dispatch office
- Create and support distribution of the daily operational schedule to operations management
- Coordinate equipment repairs with mechanics and third-party repair companies, including freeing equipment from operations for preventative and reparative maintenance
- Support and/or open and process work orders, including month-end closure and reconciliation of open work orders
- Maintain a zero-harm environment by ensuring environmental, health, and safety regulations are followed
- Perform other tasks as directed by management
Requirements
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, the ability to decipher Google Maps, and find information online
- Exceptional organizational skills to ensure adherence to protocols, best practices for paperwork, and operational flow of information
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and multitask
- Experience working with a unionized workforce and a collective bargaining agreement considered an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience setting up, overseeing, and managing job sites or projects is an asset
- Knowledge of dispatching, fleet management, and/or heavy-duty equipment is an asset
- High school education, or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in an industrial environment is preferred
- Valid work authorization in Canada required; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship
