We are currently seeking an Environmental Attendant to work in our Environmental Services department.Employment InformationEmployment Status:Full-timeReporting Relationship:Manager, Acute Environmental & Linen ServicesHiring Rate Range:$27.758 - $28.306Shift:Post Op 9am-5pm; including alternating weekends - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights.Employee Group:NOWULocation:Hennick Humber Hospital - Wilson SitePosition Responsibilities:Clean, maintain, dust, and damp mop all assigned areasDust, wash, and polish furniture and fixturesClean and vacuum carpets where applicableGather and dispose of garbage and linenClean isolation rooms, broken glass and dispose of body fluidsClean stretchers, S/L and wheelchairsPerform any tasks similar to the above that is determined to be necessary to the functioning of the HospitalUnderstand and comply with Hospital and Departmental Policies and ProceduresSeek clarification when unsure of a policy, a procedure or an assignmentFollow departmental procedure for signing in & out for the beginning and end of shift via computerPick up PDA at beginning of shift and return at end of shiftWorking alone in isolated areasParticipate with the orientation and training of new staff membersResponsible for identifying own educational needs and communicating them to ManagementActively participate in training sessions, meetings or special projects as requiredParticipate in quality control checks as requiredUses equipment and supplies in an efficient and appropriate mannerMaintain an awareness of department and hospital Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement activities,



policies and proceduresDemonstrate understanding of WHMIS, Disaster, Fire, Search, Bomb-Threat and other emergency proceduresPractices good safety habits including wearing/using any required protective clothing or equipment.
