Software Engineer & AI Specialist- Manufacturing Location
Uxbridge, Ontario Base Salary
$90,000 - $120,000 CAD (dependent on experience) The Client
Our client is an established global manufacturing organization with operations supporting highly technical industrial markets. As the organization continues to modernize its technology environment, they are looking for a hands-on technology professional to help connect business systems, optimize processes and drive greater integration and automation across the organization. What you will achieve in this role
Lead the modernization and integration of business systems across manufacturing, operations, engineering, sales and administrative functions. Partner with business leaders to understand operational challenges, identify inefficient processes and translate business needs into practical technology solutions. Integrate core platforms, including
Sage X3 ERP, internally developed CRM applications, Microsoft technologies and other standalone business systems . Develop applications, integrations, APIs, scripts and software solutions that improve data flow and connectivity between existing platforms. Reduce manual processes, duplicate data entry and disconnected reporting through automation and more scalable workflows. Evaluate existing applications and recommend where systems should be integrated, enhanced, replaced or simplified. Support the organization's adoption of
AI and automation , including applications within production planning, scheduling and operational workflows. Work closely with manufacturing and operational teams to identify opportunities where technology can improve efficiency and decision-making.
Partner with the organization's external IT service provider while providing internal technical guidance on systems, architecture and modernization priorities. Establish scalable technology practices and standards while supporting the longer-term development of the organization's internal IT function. Support the longer-term development of the IT function, with the opportunity to take on increased technology leadership responsibility as the organization grows. What you must bring to this role
5+ years of progressive experience in
business systems, software development, systems integration, technology consulting or digital transformation . Strong hands-on development experience using
C#, .NET, Python, Java, C++ or comparable technologies . Demonstrated experience integrating
ERP, CRM and other business-critical applications , with a strong understanding of APIs, databases and data workflows. Experience identifying inefficient business processes and designing technology solutions that improve how an organization operates. Experience within a
manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment
is strongly preferred. Experience with
Sage X3 or another manufacturing ERP
is a solid asset. Experience with Microsoft technologies and cloud environments; exposure to AI,
automation or machine-learning applications is an asset. Ability to balance hands-on technical execution with requirements gathering, process analysis and strategic thinking. Strong business acumen and a consultative approach, with the confidence to challenge existing processes and recommend better solutions. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, operational employees and senior leadership. Adaptable and self-directed, with the ability to take loosely defined business challenges and develop a path forward. Only those who are qualified will be contacted.
