Burnaby

About Foreshore

Foreshore Equipment & Supply is an established outdoor power equipment dealership serving the Lower Mainland from multiple locations, including Abbotsford and Burnaby, with coverage into North Vancouver and Whistler. We sell, service, assemble, and support gas and battery OPE — mowers, robotic mowers, snow and ice equipment, chainsaws, blowers, hedge tools, arborist supplies, and related parts and attachments.

The Burnaby branch needs a working manager who can run the shop floor, keep service productive, and keep the branch organized. This is not a desk-only role.

The Role The Branch / Service Manager is responsible for day-to-day operation of the Burnaby location: service throughput, parts and shop organization, customer communication, staff direction, and coordination with ownership and the Abbotsford operation. The successful candidate is well organized, computer-versed, experienced in the OPE industry, and prepared to work hours beyond standard shop hours when the work requires it.

Responsibilities

- Direct daily service operations: work orders, priorities, PDI/assembly, repairs on gas and battery OPE, snow equipment, and related product lines.
- Drive technician productivity and billable hours. Set the standard, review work, and keep jobs moving.
- Maintain shop, parts room, and counter organization so the branch can find, sell, and bill what it has.
- Use dealership systems accurately — work orders, inventory, purchasing, customer records (QuickBooks / dealer systems / Microsoft 365).
- Handle customer intake, status updates, estimates,

and complaints to a professional standard.
- Supervise and coach technicians and counter staff; enforce documentation, safety, and quality standards.
- Coordinate warranty, supplier claims, and special-order parts.
- Support sales at the counter when needed and keep the branch presentation at dealer standard.
- Communicate branch issues, staffing needs, and priorities to ownership promptly.
- Open and close the location as required. Be available beyond posted shop hours during peak seasons (spring mower, fall/winter snow) and when jobs or customers demand it.

What You Bring

- Proven OPE industry experience — service, parts, or dealership operations. Hands-on knowledge of outdoor power equipment is expected.
- Strong organizer. You keep a shop, a parts room, and a calendar under control.
- Computer-versed: comfortable with dealer software, email, spreadsheets, work-order systems, and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams/Planner). Ability to learn QuickBooks Enterprise workflows.
- Willingness to put in hours beyond standard shop hours. Peak seasons and service backlogs are part of this business.
- Clear communicator with customers and staff. Direct, professional,

and follow-through oriented.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence. Ability to lift and move equipment as required in a shop workplace.
- Team player who holds a standard without creating chaos.

Assets (not required)

- Prior service-manager or shop-foreman experience in an OPE, small-engine, or related dealership.
- Familiarity with STIHL, Toro, Echo, Husqvarna, Kress, or major snow-equipment lines (Boss, Western, SnowEx, Fisher, Meyer).
- Experience supervising technicians against billable-hour targets.

Hours & Expectations

Standard shop hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This role is salaried and is expected to stay until the day’s critical work is under control. Seasonal peaks, customer commitments, and multi-location coordination will require time outside posted hours. That expectation is explicit.

Compensation

- Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
- Negotiated incentive plan after six months, based on branch performance and agreed metrics (to be discussed with the successful candidate).
- Full-time permanent role after a probationary period consistent with company practice.

How to Apply

Submit a résumé and a short note describing your OPE background and why you can run a busy branch service operation. Applications that do not show outdoor power equipment or related dealership experience will not be considered.
