• Design multilayer, high-density AC/DC and DC/DC printed circuit boards (PCBs), applying strong knowledge of PCB design principles and constraints
• Apply electronics technology and component knowledge to PCB design and layout
• Create and maintain component footprints, PCB libraries, and feature symbols for ongoing design use
• Interface with PCB vendors to solve technical data issues
• Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot PCB design-related problems
• Communicate with internal customers and external vendors
• Review and interpret technical requirements and requests from management, engineering teams, vendors, and manufacturing partners
• Convey urgency and importance of product documentation processes to obtain timely support
• Work closely with electrical, mechanical, safety, and NPI engineers using Cadence design software and related support software
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience designing PCBs preferred
- Experience with analog and/or power electronics PCB design; basic knowledge of power electronics design preferred
- Proficiency with Cadence Allegro or comparable PCB design software
- Experience with PCB library creation and maintenance preferred
- Knowledge of PCB fabrication processes, including materials, finishes, and inspection/quality standards
- Strong understanding of PCB design and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of PCB assembly manufacturing processes and equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical considerations related to PCB design
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and processes
- Solid team player with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
