Provide resource management to the Naval Architecture team Provide Naval Architecture leadership and support throughout project life cycles, from requirements analysis and design through development, integration, test and acceptance Improve and deploy discipline best practices, processes, tools and governance Serve as a primary point of contact on complex subjects and provide education, mentoring and coaching Report to the Manager, Naval Architecture Coordinate resources for bids, projects and products Plan team workload in the short, medium and long term Develop team skills and support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, career management and succession planning Lead the team to meet expectations for productivity, chargeability, quality, continuous improvement and objectives Ensure company policies and procedures are followed, including timesheets, time off and travel Support process, procedure and tooling establishment, standardization and evolution Develop lessons learned and share knowledge across the discipline Foster continuous improvement through root cause analysis, problem solving and new practice deployment Develop bid, project and product estimates for the discipline and sub-disciplines Perform Life Cycle and Materiel Management functions for platforms, including vessel addition, obsolescence, environmental assessment and disposal management Manage marine system technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, installation and maintenance instructions, and test and trials documentation Conduct technical investigations into hull repair and marine equipment or system malfunction, including failure and root cause analysis, risk assessments and solution development Prepare stability calculations for vessels undergoing towing and docking evolutions Prepare work scopes for external quotations Prepare technical proposals and cost estimates for customer approval Develop and review engineering plans, processes and procedures Assure compliance with SOLAS,



Classification Society and Naval Ship Code standards Requirements

An engineering degree or technical program diploma in Naval Architecture or a related technical field from a recognized university or college program Expertise with industry standard Naval Architecture tools and standards (SOLAS, LSA, ISO, IACS, etc.) A minimum of 2 years of experience as a people or resource manager Strong written and verbal communication skills in English All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for access to controlled technical information Must be eligible for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and able to obtain a Canadian NATO Secret clearance Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field Preferred: Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation or eligibility for licensure in a Canadian province Preferred: Experience in the Defence industry Preferred: Familiarity with shipboard installation practices, naval classification society expectations, and platform integration constraints Preferred: Fluency in French Preferred: Recent experience responsible for a Naval Architecture team and/or Naval Architecture functions Core Competencies

Demonstrates expertise in Naval Architecture leadership, resource management, and compliance with industry standards such as SOLAS and ISO. Capable of fostering team development, continuous improvement, and effective communication in both English and French. Highest-signal resume keywords
