Reporting to the Superintendent of the Value Stream, you will provide direct input and assistance on all operational and maintenance issues within Bitumen Production Organization. You will work together with staff from across the organization to ensure cross functional teams associated with your business unit are aligned and creating value.Internal groups will include but not be limited Bitumen Production Operations Team, Maintenance Team, Reliability Team, Asset Integrity Team, Continuous Improvement and other business areas to maximize production and lower operating costs. This position has no direct reports and will provide direct input to Shift Team Lead (STL) and Maintenance related to Operations goal setting and performance evaluations.

Job location: Albian Site - Fort McMurray, Alberta
Shift schedule: 7x7, 12-hour shift

Key Accountabilities
Work closely with the Operations Superintendent and STL’s in the areas of plant efficiency, safety, training, and in particular daily plant operations and production and is the main point of contact for all support groups such as reliability, major projects, process engineering, continuous improvement, sustaining capital
Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of all aspects of the operation and a thorough understanding of the processes within the business unit
Responsible for seasonal planning to ensure winterization and de-winterization is followed in a timely fashion and able to recognize and resolve issues or lapses in the operation organization and Mentor and consult with STL in order to drive consistency throughout the four shifts as well as the entirety of the business units
Attend and lead BUT meetings and contribute to other information gatherings including production planning, operational status and maintenance planning/scheduling meetings
Evaluate compliance of Operational Procedures, Job Hazard Analysis, and Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and Coordinate Standar Operating Procedures (SOP) updating and also care and control of area fire inspection, leveraging audits completed by Operators
Provide input into plant optimization initiatives and asset expansions at Albian. Conduct weekly field tours focused on safety, problem identification and resolution, and housekeeping. Establish strong working relationships with peers by maintaining a visible presence in the field, at meetings, and during regular discussions.
Comply with all Health and Safety Requirements established by Canadian Natural as well as legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Alberta and environmental standards
What You Bring To The Role
5+ years of experience with Plant Operations or similar type of facilities
Supervisory experience and/or technical training (technology diploma) would be considered an asset, high school diploma required as a minimum
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and LSS knowledge
Ability to influence and guide team members in achieving a common goal by working together and team player with excellent communication skills
Set the standard for integrity, safety, and leadership
Exceptional problem-solving skills and technical ability to complete obligations in a timely manner
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to make timely business-related decisions
Ability to prioritize work while recognizing the need for doing thorough and complete work
